Principal's Message

Welcome to Prairie Point Elementary School!

For 20 years now, Prairie Point has served the community of Oswego, living out the district’s mission of supporting students along their unique paths. Here, we believe it’s our job to walk alongside them. We empower our students by giving them chances to try hard things, speak up, make mistakes, and learn in ways that resonate with them. We support each student by building strong relationships and showing them that we’re in their corner, no matter what. We also motivate them by making learning fun, challenging, and something to look forward to. We don’t expect every student to fit into the same mold — we just want them to feel safe, known, and excited to be here.

I began my time as the principal of Prairie Point in 2022. Prior to that, I worked as assistant principal here beginning in 2017. Before coming to SD 308, I worked for 10 years as a fifth grade teacher in Yorkville Community Unit School District 115.

Our school is special; you can tell simply from the feeling you get when you walk in! It’s the way students are known — not just for how they learn, but for who they are. It’s the staff who show up early, stay late, and care deeply, even on the hard days. It’s the families who partner with us, support us, and truly want what’s best for children.

It’s also the joy in our building — the laughter in the halls, the proud moments in classrooms, and the traditions that have taken root over the past two decades. This school isn’t just a place — it’s a community, a second home, and a reminder that when people come together for the right reasons, amazing things can happen.
